HISTORY

Coldwell Banker Forehand & Co. was founded 75 years ago by J.B. Forehand, Sr. and its Commercial Division was one of Lynchburg’s leading Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Companies. Rick Read joined the firm in 1985 and developed the Commercial Division to prominence through a tradition of integ- rity, plain dealing, and outstanding real estate service. In 2008, Ricky Read joined the firm, and together they grew the commercial division into one of the top commercial firms in Central VA and the top Coldwell Banker Commercial firm in the State of VA.

1906

In the wake of the San Francisco earthquake, Colbert Coldwell joined with Benjamin Banker to rebuild the real estate sector—founding a company grounded in integrity, service, and client success.

1925

While rooted in commercial real estate, the firm expanded into residential services, earning respect as a full-spectrum real estate brand.

1968

Upon going public, the Coldwell Banker name gained momentum—first strengthening its national reach, then growing into international markets.
